5-Star Hotels Near Pantheon – Rome
The Hotel Caravita
This 5-Star hotel in the center of Rome is on a side street off of via del Corso, which provides you with convenience as well as a bit more privacy and a chance at a good night sleep. This is a newly built boutique hotel that is a 4-minute walk from the Pantheon and right next to the most exclusive shopping in Rome. You can check out more pictures or make a reservation for the Hotel Caravita here.
The Singer Palace Hotel
If the name sounds familiar, it should. Mr. Singer, who invented the first sewing machine, opened his Roman headquarters here in 1850. It was converted to a chic boutique hotel in 2018 and is a great choice for a hotel with history, a convenient location and a rooftop bar with some amazing views both inside and out. You can check out more pictures or make a reservation for the Singer Palace Hotel here.
The Palazzo Roma
If you enjoy shopping and you are looking for convenience, then look no further than the 5-Star hotel Palazzo Roma, which is in the heart of Rome on the popular shopping street via del Corso. This palace has an aristocratic history and is adorned with frescoes, coffered ceilings and a grand marble staircase. One thing to notice in the picture below is the lack of signage for the hotel. The address is #337, but you will need to enter from that door on the right, #339. You can check out more pictures or make a reservation for the Palazzo Roma here.
The Corso 281 Luxury Suites
Much like Palazzo Roma, if shopping is your passion and you want a convenient location, then the 5-Star Corso 281 Luxury Suites might be a good choice for you. This hotel in an 18th century mansion is also in the heart of Rome on the popular shopping street via del Corso. Questions About 5-Star Hotels Near The Pantheon In Rome
Should I Stay Near The Pantheon In Rome?
The Pantheon is an amazing site that you will probably want to visit, and it is centrally located in Rome, so staying at a 5-star hotel near the Pantheon is definitely a good idea, if you can afford it. These hotels are all the top of the line with a cost that is expectedly high.
How Long Should You Spend At The Pantheon In Rome?
A visit to the Pantheon is not a long experience. In actuality, it is a single, cavernous room, so you will not be walking much on your visit. I would recommend using either a guided tour or an audio tour to help you better understand what you are seeing, but even with a tour, it shouldn’t last much more than an hour.
Is It Worth It To Go Inside The Pantheon?
I believe it is definitely worth a visit inside the Pantheon. For more information, check out my article: “Inside The Pantheon Is A History Of Artists And Kings” and judge for yourself if the time will be well spent.
Is There A Dress Code For The Pantheon In Rome?
The Pantheon is a working church and as such you should expect to be required to dress at the same level of modesty as you would in the Vatican. That said, I believe that there are mixed messages out there. It is said by others that you can’t wear shorts, but in my experience nobody enforces this in Rome, neither for men nor women. Women can expect to need to cover their bare shoulders with a shawl, and men will need to remove their hats, but unless you are dressing in very revealing or provocative clothing, you shouldn’t have any problem.
Can You Just Walk Into The Pantheon In Rome?
You used to be able to, but they have recently imposed a fee to enter the Pantheon. It isn’t very expensive, only 5€ and free for residents, but this will add some time to what are occasionally very long lines.
What Is The Area Near The Pantheon Called?
The area immediately outside of the Pantheon is called: Piazza della Rotonda, and you can see the amazing fountain of the Pantheon (Fontana del Pantheon). More broadly, the neighborhood surrounding the Pantheon is Pigna, which means Pine Cone. More broadly still, this is considered part of the historical center of Rome (Centro Storico) and within the Aurelian Walls.
Is A Guided Tour Of Pantheon Worth It?
I believe a guided tour, or a self-guided tour, is definitely with it when you are visiting a historical site like the Pantheon. There is almost 2,000 years of history that involves the church, the Roman Empire, artists and kings that you would benefit from understanding, and a tour is the best way to achieve this, in my opinion.
What Is The Best Part Of Rome To Stay In As A Tourist?
In my opinion, staying in the historical center of Rome is your best bet. You will be conveniently located to all the major sites and you will have easy access to public transportation and taxis. The Pantheon is located in a great part of Rome to stay in as a tourist because you will be very close to all the important sites, and a short walk from some of the others.
